City & Mahrez ‘advance’ in new contract talks

On the back of a stellar campaign with Manchester City, it’s been reported that the reigning Premier League champions and Riyad Mahrez have begun talks on a new contract.

After a slow start to life at the Etihad, the Algerian international recorded his best season with the club during the 2021/22 campaign.

In 47 appearances, Mahrez scored 24 goals, while recording nine assists along the way. Also,11 of Mahrez’ goals came in the Premier League, as he played a starring role in the Citizen’s charge toward the title.
