Ivorian striker Sebastien Haller recently made the move to Borussia Dortmund, as club Sporting Director labelled the transfer as promising and ambitious.

With Erling Haaland making a big money move to reigning Premier League champions, Manchester City, Dortmund filled the gap left by the Norwegian by signing the African star.

Haller capped off a stellar 2021/22 campaign with Ajax Amsterdam, where he scored 34 goals in 42 games, while picking up nine assists along the way. The former West Ham United striker signed a four-year deal with BVB, as the German giants paid £26million for his services.

Speaking on the move, Dortmund Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl said that Haller comes in with a big reputation and that he will add experience to the current side.

“We’re very pleased to have been able to sign Haller,” Kehl said as per Goal.com.

“A seasoned center-forward who has recently caused a sensation in the Champions League but who also knows the Bundesliga in particular and has already demonstrated his class and high-quality finishing there.

“The overall package is very promising. Sebastien possesses a strong physical presence and he is physically very resilient.

“With his experience, he can also offer support and stability to our young attacking players. During the talks with us, he made it clear that he has big ambitions with BVB.”
