Ivorian striker Sebastien Haller was recently diagnosed with a testicular tumour and as a result, the football world sent their well wishes to the Borussia Dortmund striker. Also extending his word of support, Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag described the news as ‘devastating’.

Haller fell ill during BVB’s training camp on July 18 and was subsequently forced to leave. Following medical examinations, it was revealed that Haller was diagnosed with a tumour.

The Red Devils manager reacted to the news following his side’s 3-1 pre-season win over Crystal Palace on Tuesday and deemed Haller as a friend, while sending his well wishes to the striker’s family.

Under Ten Hag, Haller had a stellar 2021/22 campaign in which he managed to score 34 goals in 42 games, while recording nine assists along the way.

“It’s horrible,” Ten Hag told MUTV, as per TalkSport.

“I have a fantastic relationship with him.”

“He is my friend, my striker for several years with Utrecht and with Ajax.

“To hear such news is devastating. My thoughts are with him and with his family and I hope he will recover quickly.”
