An Orlando Pirates star has given insights into Jose Riveiro’s philosophy at the club, with the Spanish mentor heading into his first season in South African football.

Little was known about Riveiro upon his appointment as the new Buccaneers head coach, however, the 46-year-old has since been praised by some of his players ahead of the 22/23 campaign.

In the 21/22 DStv Premiership season, Pirates finished in an underwhelming 6th position with Riveiro now tasked to bridge the gap to his side’s rivals.

Bucs winger Vincent Pule bought into the Spaniard’s ideas and recently mentioned that he intends on instilling a base of attacking football at Mayfair.

“The philosophy he wants [is for] us to play attractive football and we are getting to understand him the way he wants us to play,” Pule said as per the Sowetan Live.

“He wants us to play attractive football so we can get the fans back to the stadiums and enjoy watching the club.

“You can see at training sessions that he wants us to play attractive football and he wants us to work very hard to understand his philosophy.”
