In carrying on from their spectacular debut season in the DStv Premiership , Royal AM defeated Chiefs at the Chatsworth. Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Ricardo Nascimento opened the scoring in the first minute of the game.

The two sides shared the shots at goal statistic (11) and pass accuracy numbers (86%), while the possession count proved to be around the 50/50 mark throughout the 90 minutes.
