After Mamelodi Sundowns 4-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus Versfeld in the DStv Premiership this past weekend, The Brazilians co-coach explained why he sat on the club’s cooler box on the touchline.

At a packed Loftus, South African football fans were treated to a spectacle, as Sundowns flexed their muscles on a Chiefs outfit undergoing a rebuild under coach Arthur Zwane.

As for Mokwena, the popular mentor was an animated character on the touchline and was also seen sitting on a cooler box. After the game, Mokwena revealed why did not sit on the ‘hotter’ chair alongside the Downs technical team.

“The cooler box is a lot cooler than the chair,” Mokwena told reporters after the game, as per Soccer Laduma.

“The chair is hotter, and the cooler has got more ice; I stand up a bit to talk to my coaches, and I do walk across, but the cooler box is cooler,”

“I love coaching, and sometimes I over coach, I have been criticised for over coaching, but I would rather overcoach than under coach.”
