Egyptian Premier League runners-up Pyramids have put an end of speculation over Ibrahim Adel’s future by tying him down to a new long-term contract.

The 21-year-old winger was instrumental in their ultimately failed title challenge this season, scoring six goals and providing four assists in 21 league appearances.

The Cairo outfit finished six points behind champions Zamalek after losing 3-1 to El Gouna in their final game of the campaign on Tuesday, although Adel didn’t feature.

The Egypt international had been the subject of a $2 million bid from Danish Superliga leaders Nordsjaelland, while Al Ahly are also keen on acquiring his services.

However, Pyramids moved to secure the future of the promising youngster by handing him a new deal that runs until June 2026.

The club took to Twitter on Tuesday to make the announcement, saying: “Officially Golden Boy Ibrahim Adel renews his contract with Pyramids until 2026.”
