Barcelona forward Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang has broken his silence after he and his family suffered a traumatic burglary last weekend and gave an update on the injury he sustained during the ordeal.
On Monday, August 29, it was reported that Auba’s home was broken into by a number of armed men and that the African star was assaulted in the process.
It was said that Aubameyang was beaten in front of his partner as the robbers forced him to give access to his home safe. According to various news outlets, the intruders left with some of Aubameyang’s jewels and fled the scene in an Audi A3.
Now though, the ex-Arsenal fan favourite took to his social media handles in revealing that he sustained a jaw injury and thanked the supporters for their heartfelt expressions.
“Hey guys, thanks a lot for all the messages,” Aubameyang said in a social media post.
“On Sunday night, some violet cowards broke into our home and threatened my family and my children, just to steal some stuff.
“They injured my jaw but I will recover in no time, and thank God no one else was physically harmed.
“The feeling that we are no longer safe in our own home is hard to understand and describe, but as a family, we will overcome this and stand stronger than ever.
“Thanks for all the support, it really means a lot to us, Auba.”
