Zizo commits to White Knights

Zamalek have secured the long-term future of Ahmed ‘Zizo’ Sayed after he signed a new three-year contract with the Egyptian Premier League champions.

The 26-year-old winger played a starring role for the White Knights this past season as they successfully defended the title, having finished six points ahead of runners-up Pyramids.

Zizo topped the scoring charts in the league with 19 goals, while he also registered the most assists (14) to cap off a superb individual campaign.

The Egypt international admitted last month to being unsure where his future lay after drawing admiring glances from numerous clubs, including Wigan, Nantes and Al-Rayyan.

However, with the transfer window having slammed shut on September 1, the Giza outfit announced they had tied their star player down to a new deal which runs through to 2025.
