After opening his 2022/23 Premier League account for Leicester City this past weekend, Kelechi Iheanacho got the approval of an English legend who described him as a ‘lethal finisher’.
Leicester travelled to the Falmer Stadium this past weekend where they faced Brighton Hove & Albion in the Premier League. Despite getting off to a flyer, courtesy of a 1st minute goal by Iheanacho, the Foxes succumbed to a 5-2 defeat against Graham Potter’s side.
During the game, English football great Gary Lineker gave his stamp of approval to the Nigerian star who opened his account for the season.
As a popular figure on Twitter, Lineker tweeted, “Lovely goal for Leicester, Kelechi Iheanacho is a clinical finisher and deserves a good run in the side.”
The former Manchester City striker has been largely used as a substitute this season, amassing just 155 minutes of playing time in the Premier League so far.
Since signing for Leicester City in 2017, Iheanacho amassed a total of 177 appearances, scoring 48 goals while recording 29 assists along the way.
