Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions have bolstered their attacking options ahead of the new season with the signing of Youssouf Simpara from AS Korofina.
James Francis guided the Lions to a 12th-placed finish in the top flight last term and highlighted the need for more firepower after they scored just 26 goals in 34 matches.
Francis is thrilled with the acquisition of the 21-year-old striker, who could be in-line to make his debut against newly-promoted Kotoku Royals when the 2022/23 campaign gets underway on Saturday.
“We are delighted to add such a smart striker to our squad. He will surely increase the quality in the team,” the Briton said.
The club announced the Malian’s arrival in a statement on Twitter, which read: “Accra Lions Football Club can confirm the signing of Malian striker Youssouf Simpara.
“The Lions have moved to bolster their striking options with the transfer of the lanky former Under-20 international.”
