As Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang gets used to life at new club, Chelsea, ex-Blues forward Tammy Abraham sent the Gabonese a heartfelt message and hopes the striker ‘gets a run’ in the team.
Auba, as he is simply known, signed for Chelsea on deadline day as he made his return to the Premier League. Having been an Arsenal player for some five years, the move caused a stir among Gunners fans on social media, as they questioned his loyalty towards the London-based club.
At Chelsea, Aubameyang was given the number nine jersey, a shirt that was deemed to be ‘cursed’ given the amount of world class players who have failed to live up to expectation while playing in the number.
In wishing Auba well, Abraham extended a heartfelt message to the 33-year-old and wished him all of the best upon his return to England.
“I had some moments at Chelsea where I was called a flop and told to ‘Get out!’,” Abraham said as per Sport Bible.
“And if I scored, they were calling me King Drogba.
“It’s impossible to emulate him fully but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is wearing the No9 now, I wish him all the best and hope he gets a run.”
