Boutouil on Champions League aspirations with Sundowns

Upon making the move to Mamelodi Sundowns, Moroccan star Abdelmounaim Boutouil mentioned that he is happy at joining one of the ‘biggest clubs in Africa’ while also detailing his trophy aspirations with the Tshwane club.


After being linked with Sundowns for some time, the Brazilians finally announced Boutouil on the PSL transfer deadline day. The central defender joined the club on a three-year deal, becoming the first Moroccan to join a PSL outfit.


Speaking on the transfer, the former SCC Mohammedia star mentioned that his goal is to win titles in the PSL and in Africa.


“I am feeling very happy to join one of the biggest clubs in Africa, Mamelodi Sundowns” Boutouil said according to the club’s official website.


“My goal is to win all the local cups in the PSL and what’s very important for me and for the the club is winning the Champions League.


“I am the first Moroccan player to come play in South Africa, [therefore] I am here to represent my country as a Sundowns player.”
