World football’s governing body FIFA has appointed former Nigeria captain Sunday Oliseh as a Technical Expert for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Oliseh will work alongside former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and 1990 World Cup winner Jurgen Klinnsman as part of a six-man panel for the single biggest sporting event in the world.
The 48-year-old, who also took charge of the Super Eagles for a seven-month spell from July 2015 to February 2016, most recently coached SV Straelen in Germany’s Regionalliga West league until his departure in August.
Oliseh took to Twitter on Saturday to announce his new role and has already began working with his colleagues to make ready for Qatar 2022.
“Extremely honoured to have been appointed by FIFA as a Technical Expert for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar,” he wrote on the social media platform.
“In privileged company of “Sir” Arsene Wenger, Jurgen Klinnsman and 3 others. Work started last night. Qatar 2022 is looking great and ready.”
