There were no goals in Saturday’s two DStv Premiership matches, although newly-promoted Richards Bay extended their unbeaten run to five outings.

TS Galaxy missed out on the chance to pick up their first win in seven games after being held to a goalless draw by fellow strugglers Swallows at the Mbombela Stadium in the early kick-off.

The Rockets had lost three of their last four encounters, but were presented with a golden opportunity to open the scoring on 63 minutes when Junaid Sait was penalised for handling in the area.

However, Bernard Parker saw his spot-kick saved by Sanele Tshabala, who earned the Dube Birds a share of the spoils to lift them off the foot of the table to 15th spot, two points adrift of 10th-placed Galaxy.

Later that evening, Richards Bay had the chance to move to the summit when they took on Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium, where it also finished 0-0.

The Natal Rich Boyz battled hard to come away with a point, having played the entire second half with 10 men after Siyanda Msani was red-carded in first-half stoppage time.

The Buccaneers created numerous opportunities once more, but were unable to breach Jamal Salim’s goal as they went two games without a win in the league to remain in fourth position, still three points behind second-placed Richards Bay.

Saturday’s results:

TS Galaxy 0-0 Swallows

Orlando Pirates 0-0 Richards Bay
