Following Orlando Pirates 3-0 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN 8 semi-finals on Saturday afternoon, Kermit Erasmus appeared to have extended a cryptic message to the Brazilians after scoring against his former side.
After a 0-0 result in the first-leg, it was all to play for in the subsequent fixture that took place at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. As expected, both sides named their strongest possible line-ups, however, it was one man who grabbed all the headlines after the final whistle was blown.
Erasmus opened the scoring in the 8th minute, while Monnapule Saleng scored a brace to complete a 3-0 scoreline in Pirates favour. As for Erasmus, the former Feyenoord forward took to his Twitter account in voicing strong opinions, which could well have been directed to his former team.
“They will tell you things about me you didn’t know, lies too” Erasmus tweeted
“One thing they won’t tell you is the truth. So I just had to become it.
“My ego talking
“Once and always, great atmosphere at the Peter Stadium. Thank you to all the fans that came to watch football.
