Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez revealed who he thinks will go toe-to-toe with the Citizens for the Premier League title and highlighted Arsenal as one of their main competitors this season.
After 12 games played, the Gunners currently lead the way with 31 points, while the reigning league champions sit in second spot with 29 points. Both teams have been in form during the opening exchanges of the popular league, with the London club enjoying their best run of games under Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal recorded a 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League recently, as Ghanaian star Thomas Partey got his name on the scoresheet with one of the goals of the weekend.
That said, Mahrez reckons that Arsenal will challenge City for the league title and described their showings as ‘very good’ this season.
“This season I think Arsenal are very good,” Mahrez told CityTV, as per Manchester Evening News.
“All of the top six, really. Even Liverpool, they are away from us at the moment, but I still think they can be there at the end of the season.
“All the top six (and Liverpool) can challenge us for the Premier League and all of the other trophies.”
