Mamelodi Sundowns legend Roger Fuetmba has said that the reshuffling in the club’s coaching department has little meaning to their trophy aspirations and that they remain the best club in the country.

Last month, the club announced that Rulani Mokwena took over the reins as the sole head coach, while Steve Komphela was promoted to being the first-team coach. Former co-coach, Manqoba Mngqithi, was demoted to the senior coach role, a responsibility that was previously assigned to Komphela.

According to Fuetmba, these changes mean nothing given that Mokwena, Mngqithi and Komphela are still within the club’s technical department. The Sundowns great also mentioned that the reigning DStv Premiership champions are still the team to beat in the PSL.

“Sundowns have still not dropped points despite the loss to Pirates,” Fuetmba said according to Kick Off.

“The change of coaches to me doesn’t mean a lot because they are still there, all three of them.

“So, for me, they are still doing what they’ve been doing in the past six years, they are the best in the country.”
