Ghanaian legend Asamoah Gyan has announced that he has finally obtained his UEFA B coaching licence.
The 36-year-old former Ghana captain can now start his journey as a coach having had an 18-year playing career as a striker.
Gyan completed a six-day residential training organised by the Football Association of Wales (FAW) in June this year and he announced this to his fans on Instagram.
“Your new UEFA License coach is here,” Gyan wrote on his official Instagram page.
“Thanks to all who made it possible and a special one to the Wales FA. This is just the beginning, January 2023 coaching clinic loading.”
The former Sunderland AFC and Udinese Calcio star is the all-time leading goalscorer of the Ghana national team, with 51 goals.
With six goals, Gyan, who played 109 matches for the Black Stars, is the top African goalscorer in the history of the World Cup.
He is also a successful businessman in his home country.
