Tunisia will face France in a 2022 World Cup Group D match at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar on Wednesday.
Kick-off is at 5pm CAT.
The Carthage Eagles succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Australia in their previous Group D game which took place in Al Wakrah on Saturday.
Therefore, Tunisia are placed fourth on the group stages with one point from two matches including a 0-0 draw against Denmark in their maiden game in Qatar.
The 2004 African champions’ hopes of progressing to the knockout phase are still alive ahead of their big clash with France.
Tunisia have to defeat the world champions and hope that the other result between Australia and Denmark goes their way on the same day.
Meanwhile, France edged out their European rivals Denmark 2-1 in their previous Group D match which was played in Doha on Saturday.
As a result, the two-time world champions are placed at the top of the group standings – three points ahead of second-placed Australia.
France have already booked their spot in the knockout phase as they look to go all the way and retain their title.
Tunisia and France have met five times and the latter have the upper hand in this rivalry.
France have recorded two wins compared to Tunisia’s one, while two games ended in a draw.
