Netherlands will face off with the United States of America (USA) in a 2022 World Cup Round of 16 match on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 5:00 pm CAT.

The encounter is scheduled to be played at the Khalifa International Stadium which is also known as Qatar’s National Stadium located in Al Rayyan, a suburb of Doha.

The Flying Dutchmen dominated Group A and they emerged as 2-0 winners over tournament hosts Qatar in their last match which took place in Al Khor on Tuesday.

As a result, the Netherlands finished at the top of Group A having collected seven points from three matches – registering two wins over Qatar and Senegal, and a draw with Ecuador.

The three-time World Cup runners-up will look to Cody Gakpo who was in great scoring form in the group stage – netting three goals and the PSV Eindhoven striker could be the man to inspire the Flying Dutchmen to a win over the USA.

Meanwhile, USA sneaked into the knockout phase after securing a narrow 1-0 victory over a stubborn Iran side in their last Group B match which was played in Doha on Tuesday.

Therefore, the Stars and Stripes finished second in Group B having collected five points from three matches – recording two draws against Wales and England, and a win over Iran.

Christian Pulisic, who netted a crucial winning goal against Iran, is the player to watch out for in this USA team and the Chelsea FC winger has the ability to inspire his nation to a win over the Netherlands.

Netherlands and USA have met five times and the former have dominated this rivalry with all the meetings being friendly games.

The Flying Dutchmen have registered four wins compared to the Stars and Stripes’ one.

The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 4-3 win in favour of the USA in June 2015.
