Former Ghana Deputy Sports Minister Vincent Oppong Asamoah has said that former Premier League manager Chris Hughton would be the ideal replacement for Otto Addo as the national team head coach.
The Black Stars recently completed their 2022 World Cup campaign, finishing last in Group H alongside big hitters Portugal and Uruguay.
Ghana’s only win at the showpiece came in their match against South Korea, where they recorded a 3-2 victory at the Education City Stadium.
With Addo vacating his role as head coach, Asamoah believes an existing member of the technical team should be next in line, namely Hughton.
“If Otto Addo is gone, I still believe they should appoint someone from the existing technical team to handle the team,” Asamoah said on Oyerepa FM, as per Ghanaweb.
“If the the technical advisor (Chris Hughton) is ready, I’m all for him.”
