Manchester United loanee Eric Bailly could face a ban after a horror tackle on Almike Moussa N’Diaye in a recent Coupe de France clash.

The Ivorian, who already endured lengthy spells on the sidelines owing to niggling injuries, could well be out of action for an extended spell.

Marseille faced amateur side Hyeres in a Coupe de France clash this past weekend, where Bailly received his marching orders in the 15th minute of the match.

In contesting for the ball, Bailly went studs up into a challenge with N’Diaye which left the player in need of on pitch treatment. Soon after the tackle, N’Diaye was taken to hospital where he required precautionary checks.

According to French outlet, RMC Sport, Bailly could face a ban between four to six games as punishment. Should Bailly be sanctioned in this manner, he would miss crucial Ligue 1 ties against Monaco and Lorient.
