Asante Kotoko head coach Seydou Zerbo walked out during his post-match press conference after his side’s 1-1 draw with Tamale City on Wednesday.
The Porcupine Warriors missed out on the chance to reclaim top spot in the Ghana Premier League following a third successive draw, which left them one point behind leaders Aduana Stars in second place.
The defending champions had to wait until the 83rd minute to take the lead at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium after Issah Nyaabila put past his own goalkeeper but the top-flight newcomers hit back just three minutes later through Babamu Ibrahim to rescue a point.
Zerbo appeared to be visibly upset when appearing before the media after the match and spoke only briefly before storming off, leaving his assistant and interpreter, Orlando Wellington, to answer questions.
“We have drawn three consecutive matches and this is an individual mistake from the defence. We are leading let’s say six minutes to the end of the game and we lost concentration and they had an equaliser,” Zerbo said.
Commenting on the Burkinabe tactician’s hasty exit, Wellington replied: “The coach left because he was not happy. If he can’t talk, I can’t talk.”
The Kumasi giants will look to get back on the winning trail when they travel to Bibiani Gold Stars on Monday.
