Nigerian star Victor Osimhen is too expensive for Manchester United according to the club’s legend, Rio Ferdinand.
The English football heavyweights are looking to bring in a new striker following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure and they have been linked with Osimhen.
Ferdinand praised SSC Napoli marksman Osimhen’s talents, but the retired centre-back advised United to go for FC Porto’s Iranian centre forward Mehdi Taremi.
“I would have gone and got Taremi in from Porto,” Ferndinad said on his YouTube show Vibe with Five according to Daily Post.
“It’s massive money, 100 million, 120 million, [Victor] Osimhen, you’re getting charged. You’re paying for these guys.”
Osimhen has established himself as one of the top strikers in Europe and he is currently sitting at the top of the Italian Serie A scoring charts with 10 goals.
The 24-year-old won the Serie A Best Young Player award in the 2021–22 season and his contract with Napoli will expire at the end of June 2025.
