Former Nigeria international Abiodun Obafemi has lauded Super Eagles attackers Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Terem Moffi.
Osimhen has been in brilliant form in the Italian Serie A having scored 12 goals and provided three assists in 14 matches for SSC Napoli.
While Lookman found the back of the net nine times and provided two assists in 17 Serie A games for Atalanta BC and Moffi has scored 12 goals from 18 French Ligue 1 matches for Lorient.
Obafemi, who was part of the Nigeria squad that won gold in the football tournament of the Atlanta ’96 Olympics, has been impressed by the trio.
“We haven’t had it so good in recent years. Nobody will contest this,” Obafemi told Brila FM.
“(Victor) Osimhen is the hottest striker in Europe, and by extension in the world. He’s doing so well now and I believe he hasn’t reached his full potential.
“Lookman has also surpassed expectations. There are so many of them doing good at the moment, Terem Moffi as well. Long may it continue.”
Obafemi played most of his career in Germany, turning out for Fortuna Köln, Fortuna Düsseldorf and FC Augsburg, while also playing for France’s Toulouse.
The Super Eagles are set to take on Guinea Bissau in March both home and away in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
