Choupo-Moting new Bayern deal revealed?

With Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting said to be attracting Premier League interest, it’s been reported that Bayern Munich could offer the Cameroonian a bumper new contract extension.

Post Robert Lewandowski era, Choupo-Moting has been one of the German giant’s star performers, scoring 12 goals in 18 games this season. The African star was also one of his nations best players at the recent 2022 World Cup as he carried his rich vein of form into the popular international tournament.

With his current deal running down, Choupo-Moting is believed to have attracted interest from Manchester United as Erik Ten Hag looks to address his striking issues for the second-half of the 2022/23 season. However, following the signing of Wout Weghorst, talk of Choupo-Moting heading to England has seemingly died down.

Now though, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Choupo-Moting’s contract extension at Bayern is of a high priority, with the club reportedly keen on offering him a 1-year contract worth € 10million.

“News Choupo-Moting: His contract extension has the highest priority!,” Plettenberg tweeted.

“He could become the striker No. 1 next season. Therefore: Talks about a pay rise of more than €10m/year with boni.

“A new 1-year-contract until 2024 no problem for anyone. Negotiations ongoing.”
