Amad named EFL Young Player of the Month

Manchester United loanee, Amad Diallo was recently awarded with the EFL’s Young Player of the Month award for December, after ending 2022 on a high note.

While Diallo struggled to find his feet early on in the 2022/23 season, the Ivorian improved as the games rolled on and has now cemented his spot in Sunderland’s starting XI.

In December, the 20-year-old bagged three goals in five games, while putting in a string of eye-catching performances along the way. Speaking to the EFL’s official website, Diallo mentioned that the recognition boosts his confidence.

“Winning this award means a lot to me because I always try to give my best on the pitch,” Amad said.

“This type of recognition gives me great confidence to keep improving, but I also have to thank my team-mates as they help me a lot.”
