Watford FC have re-signed DR Congo international Britt Assombalonga from Turkish club Adana Demirspor.
The 30-year-old striker has joined the English Championship club on a six-month contract, with an option for a further year.
Assombalonga has returned to English football following a year and a half in Turkey with Demirspor.
“Watford FC is pleased to confirm the signing of striker Britt Assombalonga on an initial six-month contract, with the Hornets holding an option to extend for a further year,” a club statement read.
“Returning to his first club after 10 prolific years in the Sky Bet Championship, League One and Turkish Super League, Assombalonga, 30, has made over 300 appearances in the English game, turning out for Peterborough United, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough since leaving the Golden Boys in 2013.”
Assombalonga was born in Kinshasa, DR Congo and he has scored once in eight internatuional matches for the Leopards.
He made his senior debut for DR Congo in a friendly 2-0 loss to Tanzania in March 2018.
