South African coach Pitso Mosimane apologised to the Al-Ahli Saudi fans after suffering a 4-1 defeat against Al-Akhdoud at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium on Thursday evening.

‘Jingles’, as he is fondly known in football circles, suffered his first defeat at Al-Ahli Saudi this week, ending a 13 match unbeaten streak in the process.

Mosimane was praised for his efforts in helping the club climb up the Saudi First Division League table, in what was deemed to be one of the toughest tests in his glittering career. Al-Ahli Saudi now occupy third spot on the log, as Mosimane took to his Twitter account in voicing his dissatisfaction with the result.

“We got humbled tonight,” Mosimane tweeted.

“Unacceptable scoreline, especially in front of our fans.

“No excuses, only apologies. Anyway, the race is still long. Sorry.”
