Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane refused to get carried away following the Glamour Boys’ 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates in the recent Soweto Derby.

A packed FNB stadium welcomed the Soweto giants to the pitch on Saturday afternoon, as Amakhosi got one over their bitter PSL rivals.

There was little to separate the two teams throughout the encounter while they struggled to create notable goal scoring chances. However, a red card to Innocent Maela in the 60th minute changed the complexion of the game as Amakhosi began turning the screws.

That said, Chiefs took the lead in the 89th minute courtesy of an own goal by Olisa Ndah, as Zwane and company secured a league double over pirates.

In reflecting on the tie, Zwane said that his side was focused on the task at hand and that they intend on making their supporters happy.

“We always want to put a smile on the faces of the supporters and make them happy,” Zwane said as per News24.

“However, it’s just another six points for us because I don’t want our players to focus on just beating Orlando Pirates.

“We want to beat every team that we come across, but this win was also important for us as a club and the history between the clubs.

“That’s why we have to beat them.”
