Osimhen breaks silence on Man United & Chelsea links

Nigerian star Victor Osimhen has commented on reports linking him with English giants Manchester United and Chelsea FC.

The SSC Napoli star has established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe having dazzled in the Italian Serie A and UEFA Champions League – impressively netting 21 goals from 24 matches.

His exploits have reportedly caught the eye of United and Chelsea, and Osimhen has admitted that a transfer to the Premier League is “an ambition of all players”.

“I think it is an ambition of all players. And who knows, one day,” Osimhen has told Corriere della Sera.

“Right now, I assure you, it doesn’t even cross my mind. It would distract me from a beautiful season. [I’m thinking of] only Napoli.”

Osimhen transferred to Napoli for a club-record fee of €70 million in 2020 from French Ligue side OSC Lille.

The 24-year-old won the Serie A Best Young Player award in the 2021–22 season.
