Simba head coach Roberto Oliveira has highlighted the importance of their CAF Champions League clash with Horoya on Saturday which could determine the outcome of Group C.

The Reds of Msimbazi know that victory over the Guinean giants at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam will secure their passage to the quarter-finals.

Oliveira’s side are two points better off than Horoya in second place after winning two of their opening four group matches, having beaten Vipers both home and away in the previous two matchdays.

Oliveira wants to see a more disciplined approach from his players after errors crept into their recent games and will be looking to make improvements at the back ahead of this weekend’s crunch encounter.

“Matches like these are the ones used to write history, we know our ambition is equivalent to that of our opponents,” the Brazilian said.

“It is a match in which we have to be highly disciplined and make sure we don’t repeat the mistakes of the last three matches in all competitions.

“We have seen our unbeaten home record come to an end this season, so defensive wise we must be strong. According to the positions in Group C, it means that if we win the game against Horoya AC, then we directly advance to the quarter-finals.”
