Legendary Nigerian goalkeeper Ike Shorunmu has praised Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro’s squad selection.
The Portuguese tactician recently announced the squad for the upcoming 2023 AFCON qualifying double header against Guinea Bissau.
The 23-man Super Eagles squad is headlined by Europe-based stars Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi and Ahmed Musa.
“I think the list of invited players for the game against Guinea-Bissau are good,” Shorunmu told Complete Sports.
“Atleast, Jose Peseiro has shown some level of consistency with the list he has released.
“I am confident the Super Eagles will get the job done against Guinea-Bissau.”
Shorunmu played for Nigeria at the 2002 FIFA World Cup finals in Korea/Japan and he has 36 international caps for the West African giants.
Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau are scheduled to meet at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja from 5pm on Friday, 24th March.
The two teams will then make it a second date at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau on Monday, 27th March, also starting from 5pm.
