Semi Ajayi has revealed that Nigeria are raring to go in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea-Bissau at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on Friday.

The Super Eagles have a 100 per cent record in Group A after beating Sierra Leone 2-1 and Sao Tome and Príncipe 10-0 in their opening two matches.

Jose Peseiro’s side will look to book their passage to the AFCON finals in Ivory Coast next year by picking up maximum points in their double-header against Djurtus this month.

Ajayi is relishing the opportunity to feature for his country after missing their last three friendlies at the end of 2022 with a hamstring injury.

“I’m looking forward to it, of course, two very important games toward our qualification to the AFCON,” the West Brom defender told NFF TV.

“So everyone is hungry and raring to go. We are taking in the information the coaches are giving us, and we are taking it to practice.

“As always, I want to give my absolute best for my country and my team, to do my job, and to help maximise the capabilities. I’m really looking forward to the game and can’t wait to play.”
