With Eric Bailly back to full fitness, it’s been reported that the Côte d’Ivoire international could stay at Manchester United amid an underwhelming loan spell at Marseille.
The African star arrived at Old Trafford in 2016 with a big reputation and after an impressive start to life in the Premier League, Bailly found the going tough since then.
Under the guidance of Jose Mourinho at the time, the Portuguese manager held Bailly in high regard however, injuries plagued the Ivorian’s career ever since.
Now though, after falling down the pecking order at United, Bailly was sent out on loan to Marseille for the 2022/23 campaign. Struggling to overcome his injury battles, Bailly failed to impress with the Ligue 1 outfit.
Despite having an obligation to sign Bailly, it’s been reported that Marseille may not sign the injury-prone center-back.
According to FootMercato, believes that Marseille are limiting his playing to avoid having to sign him at the end of the season.
It remains to be seen what the immediate future will be for Bailly, with United set on Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire being the club’s senior selection of center-backs.
