Micale: Egypt eyeing another U23 AFCON title

Egypt under-23 head coach Rogerio Micale says they are dreaming of winning the 2023 U23 AFCON title.
The Young Pharaohs managed to secure qualification for June’s AFCON finals in Morocco after defeating Zambia 2-0 on aggregate on Sunday.
Egypt are the reigning African champions having won the 2019 tournament as the hosts.
The Brazilian tactician was full of praise for his players and staff after the tie and also talked about his aspirations going forward.
“I would like to thank the players for their heroic display,” Micale said on King Fut.
“They definitely deserved the qualification after overcoming such a strong and resolute team in a hostile atmosphere.
“It’s an important step in the road to the Olympics and now we can dream of winning another U-23 AFCON title in Morocco,” he added.
“We want to make the fans happy and what I can promise them is that they will see a new golden generation.”
