On the final day of the 2022/23 Motsepe Foundation Championship season, it was Polokwane City who gained automatic promotion to the PSL, leaving Cape Town Spurs and Casric Stars to partake in the promotion play-offs following their respective results this weekend.

Cape Town Spurs, who sat at the summit of the table going into their final match, only managed a 1-1 draw with the University o f Pretoria at Athlone Stadium. After conceding in the 77th minute, the Urban Warriors were made to work hard for a point, as Therlo Moosa leveled matters for his side in the 91st minute.
