Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp has refuted suggestions about Mohamed Salah’s potential exit from the English club.
This follows after the Egyptian superstar apologized to the Reds fans following the team’s failure to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
There were reports suggesting that Salah might seek to leave Liverpool to play Champions League football elsewhere next season.
“Mo [Salah] loves being here,” Klopp said on Football Daily ahead of their final Premier League match of the season which is against Southampton on Sunday.
“If a player would come to me and say we didn’t qualify for the Champions League, I have to leave, I would drive him to the other club.”
Salah has enjoyed Champions League football with Liverpool since joining the club in 2017 – scoring 42 goals from 66 matches in the competition for the six-time European champions.
The 30-year-old helped the Reds reach three finals in 2018, 2019, and 2022 – winning it in 2019 as the Merseyside giants defeated Tottenham Hotspur in the final.
