‘Osimhen can’t help United compete for the league title’

Manchester United legend Andy Cole believes that the Red Devils will need more than Victor Osimhen to challenge Manchester City for top honours in the Premier League.

United have been long time admirers of the Nigerian forward and are one of the many clubs interested in his services.

In 38 games during the 2022/23 campaign, the 24-year-old managed to score a total of 30 goals, while recording five assists along the way. The Red Devils are believed to be in the market for a striker for next season, however, Cole feels that United will need more than just Osimhen to challenge City.

“Manchester United can’t win the league next season,” Cole told FA Cup Odds, as per GOAL.com.

“Frustrates me when people think that buying two more players, we can then win the league. So why are Manchester City in such a good position if all it takes is buying two players?

“ Make it make sense. Two players, including Victor Osimhen, can’t help Manchester United compete for the league title.”
