Egyptian football legend Ahmed Hossam Mido has sent a heartfelt message to Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
This comes after Ibrahimovic announced his retirement from professional football after AC Milan’s final game of the 2022-23 season which was against Hellas Verona on Sunday.
The 41-year-old retires after an incredible 24-year career that saw him play for Malmö FF, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan, PSG, Manchester United, LA Galaxy, and Ajax Amsterdam where he played alongside Mido.
Mido took to his official Twitter page to share a heartfelt message with Ibrahimovic who is regarded as one of the greatest strikers of all time.
“Congratulations Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a great career.. you’ve done your country,” Mido wrote.
“Family..but mostly yourself proud! Good luck in your next chapter you will do great in anything you will decide to do.
“It was an honor to play alongside you I v learned a lot of things from you on and off the pitch. God bless you and bless your Family.”
Mido and Ibrahimovic were teammates at Ajax between 2001 and 2003 as the team won the Dutch Eredivisie title, KNVB Cup and Johan Cruijff Shield.
