African champions Al Ahly have announced that Ramy Rabia and Yasser Ibrahim will remain at the club beyond 2025 after they were handed two-year contract extensions.
Rabia is a product of the Cairo giants’ youth system, having returned to the Egyptian capital in 2015 after a season-long loan spell with Sporting CP in Portugal.
The 30-year-old centre-back has won 23 trophies at the Cairo International Stadium, including seven Egyptian Premier League titles and came off the bench against Wydad Casablanca on June 11 as the Red Eagles won the CAF Champions League final.
Ibrahim joined Al Ahly in January 2019 from league rivals Smouha and has gone on to become an important member of the first team.
The 30-year-old centre-back helped the Red Eagles win back-to-back league titles upon his arrival and started in both legs of the CAF Champions League final earlier this month to win the coveted trophy for the third time.
Marcel Koller’s side are on course to win the league for the first time in three years as they lead Pyramids by one point with five games in hand, with Rabia making 11 appearances and Ibrahim 15.
“Acting executive director of Ahly’s football company, Amir Tawfik, has concluded all the financial and managerial issues with the players after agreeing with the club’s chairman Mahmoud El-Khatib on the contracts details,” a statement from the club read.
