A mouth-watering clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs headlines the matchday 2 action, while Orlando Pirates look to put their first points on the board.


Orlando Pirates welcome Royal AM to the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday evening as Jose Riveiro’s side attempt to set their season up and running.


The Buccaneers (14th) were beaten 1-0 by Stellenbosch on the opening weekend as Thwihli Thwahla (11th) shared the derby spoils in a 0-0 draw with AmaZulu.


Another KZN derby quickly follows suite, with Richards Bay hosting Golden Arrows at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium.


The Natal Rich Boyz (16th) suffered a 2-0 opening-day defeat to SuperSport United, which extended their winless streak in the DStv Premiership to 15 games. Abafana Bes’thende (6th) picked up a point in a 1-1 draw with Moroka Swallows.


Kaizer Chiefs’ title credentials will be seriously tested on Wednesday afternoon when they lock horns with defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.


Amakhosi (10th) began the Molefi Ntseki era with a 0-0 draw against Chippa United and the Brazilians (2nd) continued where they left off last season by beating Sekhukhune United 2-1 to extend their unbeaten run in the league to 25 matches.


New Moroka Swallows head coach Steve Komphela will be seeking the first win of his tenure when Cape Town City arrive at the Dobsonville Stadium.


The Dube Birds (7th) kicked off proceedings with a 1-1 draw against Arrows on Saturday, while the Citizens (3rd) clinched a dramatic 1-0 win over Polokwane City on Sunday, having scored in stoppage time.


Meanwhile, SuperSport United will look to keep the pressure on their title rivals when they face AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.


Matsatsantsa (1st) started the new campaign in pole position after claiming a 2-0 victory over Richards Bay and Usuthu (8th) also kept a clean sheet in a derby draw with Royal AM.


Elsewhere, newly-promoted Polokwane City and Cape Town Spurs will targeting their first points when they take on Stellenbosch and Sekhukhune United respectively.


Rise And Shine (15th) conceded a last-gasp goal to lose 1-0 against Cape Town City on the opening weekend and the Urban Warriors (13th) were also denied a point when a late own-goal handed TS Galaxy victory first up.


Stellies (4th) defended doggedly to hold on for a 1-0 win against Pirates, while Babina Noko (12th) went down to 2-1 to Sundowns in the first match of the new campaign.


Chippa United will be looking to build on their point against Chiefs when they welcome TS Galaxy to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.


The Chilli Boys (9th) created some good chances against the Glamour Boys, but poor finishing from both teams resulted in a goalless stalemate. The Rockets (5th) had a slice of luck against Spurs after Bernard Parker’s free-kick went in off Cohen Stander with four minutes left on the clock.
