Pyramids FC have continued to strengthen for a fresh assault on the Egyptian Premier League title next season with the signing of Seif Gaafar from Zamalek.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been snapped up on a free transfer after he rejected an offer from the White Knights to continue his career with the 14-time Egyptian champions.

Gaafar was promoted to the first team ahead of the 2020-21 season and made his debut as a second-half substitute against Tala’ea El Gaish on 20 May 2021.

The youngster featured seven times in Zamalek’s 2021-22 title-winning campaign, but really made the breakthrough last term, playing 15 games for Juan Carlos Osorio’s side.

However, he has decided to follow former team-mate Youssef Osama Nabih to the 30 June Stadium after Pyramids acquired the services of the winger last week.

The Cairo outfit announced his arrival on Tuesday, with Gaafar putting pen to paper on a four-year contract.

“Skill, brains, balance on the field. We welcome our new player Seif Gaafar,” the club said in a short statement on Twitter.
