Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch completed the MTN 8 semi-final line-up as they joined Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates in the penultimate round.

Molefi Ntseki picked up the first win of his Kaizer Chiefs reign after they beat Cape Town City 2-1 at Athlone Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Citizens got off to a good start when Marc van Heerden (23′) gave them the lead midway through the first half, but Ashley Du Preez (36′) hit back for Amakhosi before Edson Castillo (90+3′) completed a dramatic comeback win at the death.

Later on in the evening, Stellenbosch reached the semi-finals for the first time thanks a 1-0 victory over SuperSport United after extra time at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Neither team could find that all important goal in regulation time, but Andre de Jong finally made the breakthrough nine minutes into extra time to keep Stellies’ title dreams alive.
