Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to make it 28 games unbeaten in the DStv Premiership , while Kaizer Chiefs go in search of their first win of the new season.

The action gets underway on Friday evening as Cape Town City attempt to keep pace with Sundowns at the top of the table when they take on SuperSport United at the TUT Stadium.

The Citizens (2nd) trail Sundowns by three points after kicking off the 2023-24 campaign with back-to-back 1-0 wins over Polokwane City and Moroka Swallows. Matsatsantsa (3rd) beat Richards Bay 2-0 first up before being held to a 0-0 draw by AmaZulu.

Stellenbosch will target a return to winning ways when they face Royal AM the Harry Gwala Stadium, having suffered a 1-0 defeat to newly-promoted Polokwane City last time out.

Thwihli Thwahla (14th) have only picked up one point from their opening two games after playing out to a 0-0 draw with Usuthu before being beaten 4-2 by Orlando Pirates.

Then on Saturday, Chippa United will be aiming to stop the juggernaut that is Mamelodi Sundowns at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The Chilli Boys (9th) have yet to register a win this term, although they managed to take points off both Pirates (1-1) and Chiefs (0-0), while also sharing the spoils with TS Galaxy (0-0). The Brazilians (1st) have hit the ground running after seeing off Amakhosi (2-1), Moroka Swallows (1-0) and Golden Arrows (4-0).

Elsewhere, Cape Town Spurs will aim to get their campaign up and running when they lock horns with fellow newcomers Polokwane at the Peter Mokaba Stadium and AmaZulu face Richards Bay in a KZN derby at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Meanwhile, Chiefs will be desperate to snap a three-match winless run under new head coach Molefi Ntseki when they go up against TS Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday.

The Glamour Boys (13th) have collected just one point from their opening three fixtures and lost 2-1 to Sundowns most recently. The Rockets (5th) bounced back from a 2-1 loss to Stellies first up by beating Spurs 1-0 and drawing 0-0 with Chippa.
