Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Khama Billiat is closing in on a move to Egyptian giants Zamalek, according to media reports in South Africa.
The Zimbabwean star is a free agent after he decided to leave Amakhosi in the off-season despite their efforts to extend his stay at the DStv Premiership club.
Billiat endured a difficult 2022-23 campaign due to injury, which limited him to just 12 appearances across all competitions for the Glamour Boys.
Chiefs made an offer to retain his services at the end of the season, but the 33-year-old went missing in July and refused to take their calls.
Dynamos had expressed an interest in bringing Billiat back to his homeland, but the White Knights appear to be the frontrunners for his signature.
The 14-time Egyptian champions have reportedly given intermediaries the green light to open talks with the player’s agent.
