In-form Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi scored in his seventh consecutive Premier League game on Saturday.
The burly player opened the scoring as Nottingham Forest suffered a 3-2 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford Stadium.
Therefore, Awoniyi became the first Forest player to score in seven straight league games as he maintained his impressive goalscoring form.
Furthermore, the former Liverpool player joined Egypt’s Mohamed Salah and Togolese legend Emmanuel Adebayor as the only Africans to have achieved this feat.
“Taiwo Awoniyi is the third African player in Premier League history to score in seven consecutive matches,” a Premier League statement read.
The Ilorin-born star is now the joint-top scorer in the English top-flight this season with three goals from three matches.
He will be looking to maintain his scoring form in the league when Forest take on Chelsea on September 2.
