Mamelodi Sundowns look to maintain their perfect start to the season, while Cape Town Spurs go in search of their first points after four successive losses.
The midweek action gets underway on Tuesday as SuperSport United attempt to keep pace with Sundowns when they host Golden Arrows at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Matsatsantsa (2nd) trail the DStv Premiership leaders by five points with a game in game after recording back-to-back wins against Cape Town City (1-0) and Stellenbosch (2-1) to remain unbeaten. Abafana Bes’thende (4th) bounced back from their first defeat with a 3-2 win over Polokwane City on Saturday.
Later on that same evening, Orlando Pirates will aim to get their title challenge back on track when Cape Town City visit the Orlando Stadium.
The Buccaneers (10th) dropped points for the second time in three games after being held to a 1-1 draw by Chippa United a fortnight ago, while the Citizens (8th) suffered two consecutive 1-0 defeats against SuperSport and Sekhukhune United, having won their opening two matches of the campaign.
Then on Wednesday, Mamelodi Sundowns have the chance to pull further away from the chasing pack when they take on newly-promoted Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The Brazilians are the only team still with a 100 per cent record in the top flight after a 1-0 win over Richards Bay last week extended their unbeaten run to a staggering 29 matches stretching back to 7 September 2022. Rise And Shine (5th) have made a decent start on their return, although a 3-2 loss to Arrows halted a run of two successive victories.
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs will look to build on their first win under Molefi Ntseki when they make the long trip to Athlone Stadium to face Stellenbosch.
Amakhosi (11th) beat AmaZulu 3-0 on Saturday to finally get their season up and running after picking up just one point from their first three games and the Maroons (7th) suffered their second defeat of the campaign against SuperSport.
Elsewhere around the country, Richards Bay (15th) and Sekhukhune United (6th) lock horns at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium, Chippa United (9th) entertain Royal AM (13th) at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, Moroka Swallows (12th) welcome Cape Town Spurs (16th) to the Dobsonville Stadium and AmaZulu (14th) play host to TS Galaxy (3rd) at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
