Pirates and Arrows record convincing wins

Orlando Pirates and Lamontville Golden Arrows recorded convincing victories in Tuesday’s DStv Premiership matches.

Arrows claimed an impressive 3-0 win over a hapless SuperSport United side at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in the afternoon.

Lungelo Nguse, Angelo van Rooi and Ryan Moon all netted for Arrows who emerged victorious as goalkeeper Ismail Watenga walked away with the Man of the Match award.

The emphatic win saw Arrows climb up to the second spot on the league standings – five points behind leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns, while SuperSport slipped down to the third spot.

The action continued in the evening as Pirates returned to winning ways in the league with a 2-0 victory over Cape Town City at the iconic Orlando Stadium.

Goals from Zakhele Lepasa and Man of the Match Patrick Maswanganyi earned the Buccaneers their second win of the season in the local top-flight.

Therefore, Pirates moved up to the fourth spot on the standings, while City slipped down to 10th place after recording their fourth successive defeat across all competitions.
